Salomon’s new GRVL range combines the cushion and rebound of our road running shoes with extra grip inspired by gravel bike tyres that will adapt to a wide array of surfaces, from tarmac to towpaths, dusty gravel routes to sandy trails. Gravel is a movement, a mindset, an attitude; it’s running not just for performance, but for the shared pleasure of being with friends, exploring and spending time together.
The Aero Glide 3 GRVL (£145) brings responsive cushioning and long-lasting comfort to mixed terrains. This versatile running shoe provides cushioned shock absorption and comfort thanks to a high stack midsole constructed with Salomon’s energyFOAM EVO, a super foam made with TPU delivering more rebound and better cushioning over time for a dynamic run.
This shoe is lightweight weighing in at just 275g, so you can keep running as long as you feel like. The upper features a seamless construction, padded tongue and collar that fits like a glove when paired with sensiFIT technology and traditional laces. It also comes with a protective mudguard and a more precise foothold than the road version for a more secure and confident feeling. The outsole boasts a bike-inspired contaGRIP outsole tread for optimal grip on both tarmac and gravel, so you can switch back and forth with ease.
Salomon is also organising a number of events around the country – details of which are included here, There will also be a gravel run in June from their new Battersea Power Station store (opening on 22ndMay).
