adidas Sport Eyewear have announced the launch of the new POWERVIZN™ Lens System which is now being integrated into every model in the collection. This lens system has been developed through rigorous research and innovation and represents a major step forward in performance eyewear.
Outdoor performance constantly challenges the eyes with shifting light conditions, reflective surfaces and changing terrain. That’s why the POWERVIZN™ Lens System has been designed around four key performance factors: light conditions, terrain type, external noise factors and enabling technologies.
The POWERVIZN™ Lens System has been engineered to address these variables through a precisely tuned combination of base tints with High Contrast (HC) Technology, precision mirror coatings and advanced protective treatments. Each element works together to regulate light transmission, enhance depth perception, reduce glare and minimise visual noise caused by water, sweat, dust and oils.
At the core of the system is adidas Sport Eyewear’s High Contrast Technology, which enhances color brilliance and sharpens terrain definition, allowing athletes to read the ground faster and react with greater confidence. The precision mirror coating reduces glare from highly reflective surfaces, while amplifying the functional benefits of the base tint. Thanks to the combination of the base tint and mirror coating, lenses are optimized for a full range of light categories, from intense sunlight with high glare to low-light conditions and photochromic options that adapt seamlessly to changing environments. They are also tuned to the specific visual demands of different terrains, including road, trail, snow and water, improving surface definition, depth perception and obstacle detection. By managing environmental distractions and maintaining stable visual clarity, the system helps athletes stay focused and perform with greater control.
To address challenges from external factors during sports activities, hydrophobic and oleophobic protective coatings are applied to both sides of the lens. These coatings repel moisture, dirt, and fingerprints, helping maintain clear vision even during intense activity.
