Race to the Stones is a truly unique Ultramarathon race which travels across the Ridgeway, the UK’s oldest footpath.

From the 11th-12th July 2026, Race to the Stones passes through ancient landscapes and ends at the iconic Avebury Standing Stones. Whether you enter the 50km, 100km Non-Stop or 100km Over Two Days race this is no mere ultramarathon – it’s a journey on foot through 5000 years of history.

Along the trail, you’ll pass by countless historic sites including Grim’s Ditch – A 5km arrow-straight prehistoric earthwork, The historic village of Goring on the Thames, England’s longest river, Liddington Hill Fort, The Uffington White Horse, Barbury Castle, The Hackpen White Horse and finishing at the Avebury Standing Stones – A 5000-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site.
