Cape Town Marathon Becomes A World Major

Abbott World Marathon Majors have confirmed that the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon will join the series in 2027 to become the eighth member and the first World Major in Africa.
The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon will take place on 23rd May 2027 and joins the other seven marathons which includes Tokyo Marathon, the Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America, the TCS London Marathon, the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS, the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and the TCS New York City Marathon.
