FUGA Mountain Club athlete Rebecca Hormann is setting out to become the first person to complete a continuous run connecting all 95 hills, tors, and peaks known as the Ethels across the Peak District.

Setting off at 11:00 AM on Thursday 22nd October 2026, Hormann’s route, dubbed the “Ethels275” , spans 275 miles and over 40,000 feet of elevation gain. The challenge starts and finishes in Hope, Derbyshire, linking every peak named in honour of Ethel Haythornthwaite, the pioneering environmentalist whose campaigning helped establish the Peak District as the UK’s first national park in 1951.

Hormann enters the attempt with world class endurance credentials. Earlier this year, she won her first 200 mile race at Terra de Gigantes in a female course record time of 46 hours and 13 minutes, before setting another course record last month at Italy’s technical TOR100 by Kailas FUGA.

Inspired by her completion of the iconic Bob Graham Round in the Lake District earlier this year, the Ethels275 has been designed in a similar ‘Round’ format. By establishing this new round, she aims to leave behind a challenge that other ultra endurance athletes can attempt in the future.

Hormann’s project exemplifies the mission of her team, the FUGA Mountain Club (FMC). Supported by global trail running brand Kailas FUGA, the FMC has an international roster of over 500 competitive athletes. Supporting them with equipment, coaching, and race opportunities. The FMC also actively works to lower barriers for runners and champion women on the trails including sponsoring the first women only trail races in Italy and Switzerland earlier this year.

She will take on the challenge wearing the Kailas FUGA EX 330.
